FREE COOLING! for any IT Suites, computer rooms, telecoms rooms, lift motor rooms, basically, anywhere that needs year-round cooling.......... Don't forget about the prospects for energy saving in the form of 'Free Cooling' systems! This is where you use the cold outoor air in the form of high level ventilation to provide inner space cooling instead of running aircon or refrigeration systems to achieve the same thing. Running fans alone is always cheaper than a/c or refrig equipment. You'll still have to have a/c and/or refrig systems for the times when the ambient is higher than the room optimum temperature, but the vent-only option WILL save you money. CHEAPER HEATING! anyone that has no gas on their premises and has to use electricity as the only form of providing roomspace heating, should not be using direct acting heating appliances. They need to be looking at air-to-air 'heat pump' systems. These 'recover' energy from the outdoor air and can provide up to 3.5 times the amount of energy that they need to run, in providing useful heat energy to the room. Heat pumps are not new technology. We've been installing them for over 15yrs! They are more effective than solar heating when heating water, and can be connected to underfloor water heating loops if you're looking for a really unobtrusive system.(no rads to clutter the rooms walls) The bonus with air-to-air 'heat pump' systems is that they are airconditioning systems in the summer months, providing effective, much needed cooling on those warmer days.
