I hadn't been to the Grange for almost 5 years until last week. The place has been given a breath of fresh air. The food was extraordinary, I tried the new Indian menu, as a friend of mine who was with me is a regular there. I must say it was presented well, and the portions were quite large.I was surprised at the lack of awareness for the Grange, considering it is so much nicer then the last time I went! My friend tells me there are new owners, who have introduced the new menu's and outside seating. Its a shame it was raining on the day I went as the views outside were breath taking.I've also stumbled upon their website, which I think may be useful to other users; www.grangerestaurant.com; needless to say, i will be recommending the restaurant to everyone i know!
I Have lived locally all my life and recall the days when the Grange was the place to be in Wallington. in the more recent past it had gone terriffically down hill. My partner convinced me to go back on Saturday after we had enjoyed the sunshine in the park and I have to say the food is fantastic I had Tiger Prawn Cocktail to start my Partner had Fishcakes, They were so tasty, we followed this with Sea Bream (AMAZING!) and aged sirloin. I cannot fault the food or service. Anyone put off by past bad experiences should try this place!
This Place has seriously improved I have lived locally all my life and have used the Grange several times in the past only to be put off by all the crazy changes of menu decor staff tec. My partner encouraged me to try it in the hot weather Saturday and the food was fantastic I had Sea Bream followed by Roasted Banana Creme Brulee. It was so good I took my Mum and Nan the next day for a Sunday Roast. the Staff were so good to us putting up with a grumpy granny and my mum's gluten free diet they even made her a gluten free Gravy! cannot fault it all must try!
They do continental and Indian (haven't eaten the curries but they're presented well). The last couple of times I've been I've had the Tuna salad, which is a terrific meal size dish. Top it off with a decent portion of cheese and biscuits and you have a winning dinner. The service was a bit slow last time, and it wasn't all that busy. We kept having to prompt staff for dessert menus, more drinks, the final bill, etc. That's the only gripe for an otherwise lovely meal. The venue is quite fancy looking and airy now, without actually being all that expensive. It's mid-range, as opposed to high priced.
