Osteopathy and Sports Massage. Early morning, evening and weekend appointments available. Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical and musculoskeletal conditions. It locates tension and abnormal movement in the spine and other joints of the body and aims to restore normal function. This is achieved through specific spinal adjustments, soft tissue techniques, massage and other gentle techniques that improve joint mobility, decrease muscle spasm, reduce nerve interference and improve circulation. Injury from any physical activity, no matter how minor, will benefit from professional diagnosis and treatment. Treatment is aimed towards maintaining the body in good working order to prevent injuries occurring in the first place. Osteopathy can help with: Muscle tension Aches and pains Arthritic pain Back pain Neck pain Dental and jaw pain Local or minor circulatory problems Cramps and muscle spasms Fibromyalgia Frozen shoulder Joint pains Neuralgia Inability to relax and restlessness Rheumatic pain Rheumatism Sciatica Sports injuries (e.g. tennis elbow, tendon problems) Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Occupational Injuries (e.g. postural) IBS and constipation Tension headaches However, patients have found osteopathy helpful for many other conditions as well. If you want to find out more, we will be happy to talk to you.
